Matthew Bourhis is the son of Ray Bourhis and an attorney at the firm. He represents claimants in disability insurance, homeowners insurance and business insurance disputes. He is passionate about fighting for justice and helping policyholders achieve swift and fair solutions. He frequently writes about insurance and has been published in the LA Times, among various other news outlets.
Mr. Bourhis cares deeply about providing legal services to underserved communities. He contributes pro bono legal services for disaster victims, participates in free legal aid clinics, and has appeared as an expert panelist and radio guest, helping California fire victims. He volunteers with Community Action Marin – the largest human services provider in Marin County – and serves as Treasurer on its Board of Directors. As a member of the Executive Board, he oversees numerous programs to meet the emerging needs of low-income people, including childhood education, mental health and financial services.
Prior to joining Bourhis Law Group in 2017, Mr. Bourhis served the California Supreme Court, working on death penalty cases. He also served in the Honorable Martin J. Jenkins’ chambers in 2015. He is an active member of Consumer Attorneys of California and San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Bourhis earned his J.D. from King Hall, University of California, Davis School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Boston University.
